Brendan Jury is Jury Music.

He is an award-winning composer and accomplished producer, musical director and musician working with clients across the globe.

Brendan has established himself as one of the most versatile and prolific composers in the South African television industry. He has scored the original music for numerous award-winning drama series and telenovelas, most recently for the hit dramas Outlaws and Adulting. He also composed the original score for the telenovelas Champions and Youngins. He wrote the original music for both seasons of the successful horror series Dam, the telenovela Gqeberha: The Empire as well as the multi award-winning 3 part series The Wife. He composed the original music for the thrilling Kenyan and Lagos Crime & Justice drama series as well as Diiche. Brendan scored the original music for the drama Lioness Season 2 and was the composer of all original score for the multi-season, multi-award winning and International Emmy-Nominated telenovela The River. He wrote the original music for the M-Net/HBO/ZDF co-production Trackers and scored the original music for the award-winning Legacy.

Other notable series which Brendan has scored the original music for include The Republic, a 13-ep drama action series for Tshedza Pictures, The Throne, a 260-ep telenovela for Ferguson Films, the 13-episode award-winning drama Still Breathing, Giyani: Land of Blood Season 1-3, as well as Season 2 of the drama Spoorloos.

He also composed and recorded the opening theme songs for The River, The Republic, Trackers and the credit song for Still Breathing.

In the film world, Brendan composed the original score for Donovan Marsh’s feature film iNumber Number Jozi Gold (2023). He has scored numerous feature films including I Am All Girls (Donovan Marsh - 2019), Kings Of Mulberry Street (Judy Naidoo - 2019), iNumber Number (re-made in the United States as Avenged - Donovan Marsh - 2013), Happiness is a Four Letter Word (Thabang Moleya - 2016), Hatchet Hour (Judy Naidoo - 2016) and The Lucky Specials (Rea Rangaka - 2017).

He collaborated with Black Coffee and was musical director for the cutting edge South African content for Black Coffee’s Africa Rising which sold double platinum and was a ground-breaking live event in South Africa. He was also the musical director and orchestrator for The Parlotones Orchestrated live event.

He composed original score for a variety of other television series including Spoorloos S1, iNumber Number, Intersexions, Matatiele, and Mutual Friends.

He has scored a diverse range of International wildlife documentaries for National Geographic as well as The Lions of Sabi Sands: Brothers in Blood for Discovery USA.

Aside from doing international commercial campaigns for SA Tourism, Guiness and IBM in the United States, Brendan composed original theme music for broadcast theme promo’s and channel idents for a variety of Channels across MultiChoice and the SABC.

Brendan contributed viola for the film Traitor starring Don Cheadle (Jeffrey Nachmanoff - 2018) as well as Tsotsi (Gavin Hood - 2005).

Brendan received an incredible 6 nominations for best original score across 4 different categories in the 2024 SAFTAs to be held later this year. He has 2 nominations in the TV Drama category, 2 nominations in the Telenovela category. One for best original score in a Feature Film and one for best original song in the Telenovela category.

He received 2 nominations for original music for the 2023 SAFTAs, 4 nominations for the 2022 SAFTAs across 3 different categories, taking home the Golden Horn for Best Original Score in a Telenovela for Tshedza Pictures’ The River.

He also won the SAFTA in 2019 and in 2021 for Best Original Score in a Telenovela for The River and was nominated for 3 SAFTAs in 2020 for his original score on The Girl from St Agnes, Giyani : Land of Blood and The River. He won a WAWELA award in 2015 for Best Composition in a Television Production for Swartwater.

Brendan composes bespoke original compositions for the film, television, commercial, live event and music industry markets.
